Stories have always been and remain one of the most powerful ways to explore ideas and ways to truth.

My writing focuses on the realities people live, through everyday hardship, hope, loss, faith, uncertainty, and redemption. Stories, and fiction in particular challenges people honestly, while still offering moments of light and humor, and, where we land lucky, enlightenment.

Brian Nelson was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and while having migrated to the state of Florida when a young teen, he has maintained a salt-of-the-earth perspective, a mid- westerner’s perspective, valuing older ideals on faith, decency, and a love of irony.

He has maintained these touchstones of conviction, and they play a significant part in his writing, also in the roles of his characters. And, while leaning heavily into humor, the accompanying messages of truth and goodness prevail, illustrating his overarching worldview.

Married forty years to his “one and only,” Vincenza, they share two children and one grandboy.
